But most of all, you’ll be impressed by the magnificent kindness and hospitality that you’ll be offered- everywhere!

1After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey from Kampala to the west of Uganda through Mubende. Lunch en route

Arriving at Fort Portal, we’ll travel on to Ndali Lodge, a luxury inn in a spectacular setting overlooking Lake Nyinambuga. There is a terrace restaurant and bar with beautiful views and a beautifully decorated drawing room. All rooms are with private facilities

2After a good breakfast we’re off to Kibale Forest with its family of habituated chimps- its home to an astonishing 12 species of primates and provide one of the highest primate densities in the world. Here, on our guided forest walk, we may find families of chimps and red colobus monkeys chattering and swinging through the ancient trees up to 55m in height is a wonderful place to experience at first hand an extraordinary diversity of life in tropical rainforest. We’ll also have the opportunity of a guided walk through the Bigodi Swamp.
Lunch will be taken at crater valley resort another extraordinarily friendly locally-owned, delightfully situated lakeside establishment.

3After an early breakfast, we’ll leave for a guided walk at Magombe Swamp where we’ll be able to spot monkeys, exotic birds and butterflies.

4Another very early departure- but well worth it! We’ll are on out way to Semliki Valley. This valley is known as the “Garden of Eden” and has a magnificent view of the river Semliki meandering to Lake Albert. We’ll stop to visit a local farmer and have a tour of his farm then take a picnic lunch at the hot water springs. We’ll spend the afternoon taking a forest walk in the tropical rainforest of Semliki National Park.
This evening, we’ll dine and stay at the Rwenzori View Guesthouse, all rooms with private facilities. Good food and wonderful hospitality.

5After breakfast, we’ll experience a day of real discovery. We’ll visit a local community in the foothills of the Rwenzoris-the inhabitants are looking forward to welcoming and entertaining us. After touring the area, we’ll visit the local Witch Doctor at his home, take a (long) lunch at the Kamugha Guesthouse and enjoy an entertainment provided by the local (Bakonjo and Batoro) dancers before visiting the local women’s group creating artefacts to provide for the community.

6Post breakfast departure for Kampala where we should arrive in the early morning.
