Murchison Falls National Park: 3 days

Day1: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls National Park

This morning you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en-route. You will have the opportunity to go for a short bush walk and learn about the fascinating rhinos. Afterwards, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Overnight at the Red Chili Campsite.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat Cruis on the Nile

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive. You will see giraffes, buffaloes, kobs, elephants, and if you are lucky, lions. Return to the campsite for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat trip on the Nile. From the boat, you will be able to see animals lounging on the banks of the Nile, such as lazy crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and grazing elephants. Return to the campsite for dinner. Overnight at the red Chili Campsite.

Day 3: Return to Kampala

3 Days Safari to Lake Mburo National Park

Day 1: Crocodile Farm and Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. The park contains a variety of attractions; it is dominated by extensive wetlands, rolling grassy hills, seasonal and permanent swamps, wooden savannah, and forests, which harbor a variety of plants and animal species. En-route we will have a stopover at the equator for lunch and a small demonstration of the different hemisphere. After, we will visit the Uganda Crocs, a crocodile farm where the Nile crocodiles breed. And finally, we will proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Mburo campsite.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

After early breakfasts, we will be off for an early morning game drive that offers a wonderful view of zebras, waterbucks, buffaloes, topis, elands, leopards, and a variety of bird species. Return to the campsite for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo; you will have the opportunity to see crocodiles, the monitor lizard, Pelicans, Hippos, Herons and the rare Shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Mburo campsite.

Day 3: Horse Riding and Return to Kampala

This morning we have the option of going on one last morning game drive, or exploring the park by horseback (for an additional 100 USD). Horseback safaris require no experience, and we will be accompanied by an experienced guide. After exploring the park one last time, we will head back towards Kampala, with a stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers en-route. Here, we will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations. We will arrive in Kampala by early evening.

2 Days Jinja Trip

Activities:

Day 1: City Tour, the Source of the Nile and the Endowoza Art Center

After an early morning breakfast, drive to Jinja. Spend the morning exploring Jinja town. Visit the market and the source of the Nile. Spend the afternoon at the Endowoza Art Center and overnight in Speke camp at the Bujagali Falls.

Day 2: Boat Trip and Nature Walk

After breakfast, go for the boat trip on the Nile River at Bujugali Falls. Expect to see water birds, and monitor lizards. You will have a chance to visit Jackson’s Island. As we head back to Kampala, we will stop at Mabira Forest for a nature walk.

3 Days Gorilla Tracking Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  • Day 1: Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
    Depart Kampala early in the morning and travel through Uganda’s green and undulating countryside to Bwindi impenetrable National Park. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp.
  • Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and Village Walk
    After an early breakfast, head to the Uganda wildlife headquarters at Buhoma for a briefing on gorilla tracking etiquette. You will pick your way through the dense undergrowth, along the scenic forest tracks, with great anticipation. You’ll soon meet a family of gorillas. In the afternoon, go on a guided walk through the forest and the local villages. We’ll visit the local brewer who makes beer out of ripe banana, the medicine man and different community craft centers. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp.
  • Day 3: Return to Kampala
    After breakfast we will return to Kampala. We will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. We will also have a stopover at the equator for photos, and a small demonstration on the different hemispheres. We will arrive late in Kampala in the evening.
